Morto’s Earthworks and Tank Cleaning is a small family run and owned business located in the beautiful Lockyer Valley.
We started our business as Morto’s Tank Cleaning back in 2011 with Ben working full time in various trades and cleaning tanks on weekends and after work. Ben obtained a Heavy Rigid Vehicle licence and Excavator ticket and started in the earthmoving industry in 2012. He has been doing that ever since. In that time he has also obtained a Heavy Combination Vehicle licence, Bobcat, Grader, Loader and Roller tickets.
In 2018, we purchased our first machine – a Terex 2 tonne pozi track with a chain digger and post hole auger attachments. From then, Ben was working 7 days a week (full time job through the week - quite often working in Brisbane or down the Gold Coast - and working for himself on weekends and after work).
At the end of 2019, we decided it was time to try and pave the way so that Ben could go out completely on his own and enjoy more time with family. So, we registered our business as Morto’s Earthworks and Tank Cleaning and Ben started working as a contractor for his boss. In July of 2020, we made the decision that it was time for us to try this out as Ben’s full-time job.
In July 2021, we added a Kubota U25 2.5 tonne excavator. As of October 2023, we have another new addition to replace our Terex PT30, a new ASV RT40! Here is our current set-up!

I (Tarryn) have always done the paperwork side of things, but officially began working for the business in January 2023 after leaving my full time job in December 2022.
​
As of March 2025, we welcomed Ryan to our team as our labourer! He now does all of our tank cleans and assists Ben with any other jobs he needs help with.
As the business name suggests, Ben does anything earthmoving and cleans water tanks. However, there is so much more that he can do! We supply and install new water tanks, prep for retaining walls, shed slabs or turf, dig drainage for trenches for power / electricity, construct or fix driveways, supply and lay turf, final trim, construct gardens / basic landscaping, dig post holes, rubbish clean up, general property maintenance and slashing.
